SharePoint On Premise Diagnostic (OPD) Tool available

From previous years when MOSS 2007 and SharePoint 2010 were the focus there was a tool called SETH and used to troubleshoot earlier versions of SharePoint to identity issues ad provides recommendations.

Now with SharePoint 2016 and 2019 available this needed an upgrade for the tool, Microsoft just released the OPD tool.

What is the OPD tool is and what it can provides?

It is a collection of diagnostic scenarios, analyzers, rules, and insights for diagnosing common issues in the SharePoint 2016 and 2019 On Premise environments.

To Install the tool you can download it from here where you will find all releases then you can select release and download as zip folder.

Unzip the folder you will find the following structure

Copy he folder to the SharePoint server and run the OPD-console Powershell as administrator then from the PowerShell screen select the area and scenario that you want the tool to troubleshoot.

Then the tool will write the issues it found to resolve your problem
