How to Integrate LinkedIn with Microsoft 365

LinkedIn integration with Microsoft 365 enhances collaboration, networking, and productivity by bringing professional insights directly into your daily workflow. Microsoft has embedded LinkedIn into several Office apps and services, allowing users to leverage their professional network within Outlook, Teams, and more.

In this blog, we’ll explore how to integrate LinkedIn with Microsoft 365, its benefits, and key use cases.

Integrating LinkedIn with Microsoft 365 provides several advantages, including:

Configuring Microsoft 365 Admin for LinkedIn Integration

Microsoft 365 administrators can manage LinkedIn integration settings for their organization by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  2. Access Organizational Settings
    • In the left-hand menu, select Settings > Org settings.
  3. Enable LinkedIn Integration
    • Under the Services tab, find and select LinkedIn Integration.
    • Check the box to allow users to connect their LinkedIn and Microsoft accounts.
    • Click Save Changes.
  4. Manage User Access
    • If needed, navigate to Users > Active users.
    • Select a user, then under LinkedIn integration, toggle the setting to enable or disable access for that user.
  5. Review Privacy & Compliance Settings
    • Under Privacy & security, review LinkedIn data-sharing policies to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
    • Users will have control over their LinkedIn profile visibility within Microsoft 365.

Once configured, users can connect their LinkedIn profiles from Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications.


Steps to Integrate LinkedIn with Microsoft 365

Step 1: Enable LinkedIn Integration in Microsoft 365

By default, LinkedIn integration is available in Microsoft 365. However, it needs to be enabled for first-time use.

  1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 using your work or personal account.
  2. Open Outlook on the Web or Outlook Desktop.
  3. Click on a contact’s name in an email to open their contact card.
  4. Scroll down to the LinkedIn section and click Sign in to LinkedIn.
  5. Follow the prompts to authenticate and link your Microsoft 365 account with LinkedIn.
  6. Once connected, you’ll see LinkedIn profiles of people you interact with via email.

Step 2: Enable LinkedIn Integration in Microsoft Teams

LinkedIn is embedded within Microsoft Teams, allowing you to view profile details during conversations.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Click on a contact’s profile picture in a chat or meeting.
  3. Select LinkedIn from the profile menu.
  4. Sign in to LinkedIn and authorize Microsoft Teams.
  5. Once linked, you can view LinkedIn profiles directly in Teams without switching applications.

  1. Open Microsoft Viva Insights or Viva Learning.
  2. Navigate to the Settings section.
