Microsoft Hot Shots News 1 – March 2025

1-

Microsoft will retire the Microsoft Feed app from Microsoft Outlook for iOS and Android starting May 1, 2025 and ending by late May, 2025.

Users of your organization will no longer be able to access the Feed tab in Microsoft Outlook for iOS and Android. The Feed app will disappear from the bottom of the screen for users who had pinned it there. The Feed app will no longer be available in the Apps list for pinning.

As an alternative to the Feed, we recommend using Copilot in Microsoft Outlook. Other alternatives that recommend content similar to the Feed:

  • The Files app in Microsoft Outlook
  • The Microsoft OneDrive app for iOS and Android
  • The Recommended section on Microsoft365.com
  • The For you section in OneDrive on web

This change will happen automatically on the specified dates and no specific actions are required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.

2-

Beginning March 31, 2025, Power Apps will use a new endpoint, *.powerplatformusercontent.com, which needs to be added to your firewall allowlist.
Please update your firewall to allowlist the *.powerplatformusercontent.com domain and its subdomains before March 31, 2025.

Coming soon for Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat: To enhance the organization and discoverability of the user’s Copilot chat sessions, we will use a large language model (LLM) to generate titles for new chat sessions.

When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early March 2025 and expect to complete by late March 2025.

4-

Coming soon to Microsoft Teams: The Facilitator agent can take notes during your Teams meetings and chats. The Facilitator synthesizes key information from the conversations, so users can catch up quickly. In meetings, the Facilitator allows everyone to co-author real-time notes and collaborate seamlessly. In chat, the Facilitator creates and maintains an up-to-date summary of important information as the conversation happens, including key decisions, actions items, and open questions to resolve.

Coming soon to Microsoft SharePoint Online: SharePoint and Global Admins will be able to use a Microsoft PowerShell cmdlet to review tenant-level usage data for the SharePoint agents trial.

After this rollout, the PowerShell cmdlet Get-SPOCopilotPromoUsage will show usage data for the SharePoint agents trial at the tenant level (total trial queries used, trial queries left, and trial queries available in tenant). This report will show historical data starting from January 2025 when the SharePoint agents trial started.

When this will happen: General Availability (Production): The PowerShell cmdlet Get-SPOCopilotPromoUsage will be available starting March 1, 2025.

IT Administrators can now monitor the health of Microsoft Teams desktop clients for Windows and Mac through the new ‘Teams client health’ page in the Teams admin center.

  • This page provides actionable insights into client health metrics, such as crashes, launch failures, and update failures. It also enables better monitoring of Teams client version adoption and updates.
  • Administrators have detailed data on top issues, insights, and tools to quickly address client health problems.
  • Administrators can monitor version adoption, version health, and get granular details about devices and users with the latest client versions.
  • Administrators can see the recency of client versions and proactively address issues that prevent automatic updates to the most secure Teams client version.
